ERIOCHROME BLACK T
Eriochrome® Black T is used as an indicator for complexometric titrations. It functions as an acid-base indicator. Eriochrome® Black T forms complex with Ca2+ and Mg2+, but it binds more strongly to Mg2+ ions. Eriochrome® Black T is a hydroxyl-arylazo dye and is generally supplied as a monosodium salt.
Eriochrome Black T is a complexometric indicator that is used in complexometric titrations, e.g. in the water hardness determination process. It is an azo dye. Eriochrome is a trademark of Huntsman Petrochemical, LLC. In its deprotonated form, Eriochrome Black T is blue
