Methylparaben is one of the most common parabens. You can find it as part of a paraben mix in most cosmetic products, where it prevents germ growth. It can also be found naturally in some fruits and may be used as a food preservative or an antifungal preservative.
This is an antifungal that is widely used as a preservative found in food, drugs, and cosmetics.
Propyl Hydroxybenzoate is soluble 1 in 2500 of water and 1 in 1.5 of alcohol. The solubility of both componds is increased in hot water. A combination of agents provides a more effective antimicrobial preservative system and propylene glycol also increases the activity.
